When I was a little girl I remember attending the Sunday Horse Shows at Cal Poly with my mother. Was this before or after we had Arabians? I can't really tell you. But I do know is that this tradition has introduced the Arabian Horse to the local community and beyond for generations. This December show was a special Holiday Edition. It featured Ugly Holiday Sweaters and Festively decorated horses and of course Santa Claus! At the show the horses demonstrated their intelligence and versatility with training and fun tricks accomplished by the University's students and staff. The horses were exhibited in english, western, costume, reining, trail and liberty. A wonderful drill team performed and we were delighted by the always fun Egg & Spoon Class.
These lovely horses are the best ambassadors any breed could ask for! They are beautiful and friendly, they look as eager to meet the guests. Children and adults waited in line to meet the horses after show or stroll down the aisles and meet the young stock. Some of the children were able to partake in leadline rides.
After all these years it was great to be back. So wonderful seeing new young faces smiling the way I smiled all those years ago when I saw the wonderful Arabian Horse on display at the W.K. Kellogg Center Arabian Center.
